Rick Young, DDS, is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was elected to the Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He received recognition for his academics and research including an award from The Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Predoctoral Achievement Award from The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Young created a manual on dental materials in 2000, and in 2001, he attended The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Hospital Residency Program where he obtained advance training for medically compromised patients. Today, Dr. Young lectures locally on diabetes, periodontal disease, childhood caries, and oral concerns of the aging population. He is currently a member of the ADA, the TDA, RGV District Dental Society, The AGD, the TAGD, The RGV Academy of General Dentistry (served two terms as president), and Dentists Who Care. At home, Dr. Young enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife.
